The role
Reporting to the Home Assessing Team Leader, the Desktop Assessor is responsible for the end‐to‐end management of allocated claims. You will establish the cause of damage as well as determine the scope and cost of repair to insured properties, while maintaining excellent customer service.
You will
* Conduct desktop assessments of insured properties using virtual assessing and/or causation reports provided by our panel suppliers;
* Produce detailed reports, determine cause, coverage, damage and best repair methods;
* Review scope of works and expert reports to ensure the most cost effective and timely method of repairs;
* Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including local authorities and third‐party building surveyors;
* Negotiate and define the scope of work and associated costing with key stakeholders;
* Manage end‐to‐end claims, handling cost, quality and service controls in conjunction with the Claims Operations Team;
* Achieve consistent adherence to key performance measures (KPI);
* Submit reports, review SOWs and documentation in a timely manner as per SLA.
This position is based full‐time at our Lidcombe office.
What experience you'll bring
* Previous experience working within the insurance, building or construction industry highly desirable;
* Exceptional customer service and supplier relationship management experience;
* Ability to thrive in fast‐paced, high‐pressure environments;
* Ability to prepare scope of works, quotes and estimations – extremely advantageous;
* Confident using technology.
