Job Summary

The Production Supervisor oversees a team of direct labor staff, reviewing work performance, evaluating and testing procedures, and understanding project specifications and drawings.

Collaborates with engineering, purchasing, operations project engineers, quality control, and project managers to ensure project requirements are met.


Main Responsibilities:

* Oversight of work team planning and execution of diverse assembly activities.
* Resource allocation based on backlog and forecasted workload.
* Hiring, training, development, and appraisal of staff.
* Fostering teamwork within the department.
* Timely addressing employee performance issues in accordance with company policies, consulting HR as necessary.
* Scheduling, allotting, and monitoring work orders.
* Alignment with engineering, purchasing, operations project engineers, quality control, and project managers to ensure project requirements are met.
* Ensuring projects are completed within budgeted cost and schedule while meeting all quality standards.
* Adherence to redline and as-built drawing processes.
* Establishment of work unit objectives and standards.
* Maintenance of measurements for quality, schedule, and cost performance.
* Ensuring timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement.
* Development and implementation of standard work procedures to enhance overall department productivity.
* Training and informing employees of new work methods and procedures.
* Responsibility for safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring work crews follow safe practices and HSE programs, including Lock-out Tag-out.
* In conjunction with the EHS Manager, training employees on changes in safety regulations, work policies, and standards.
* Identification, recommendation, and prioritization of tool and capital equipment acquisition to improve overall efficiency of the department.
* Department budget management, prioritizing shop expenditures to stay within budget, and assisting in preparation of capital and department expense budgets.
* Team member skill and ability development.
* Validation and update of department training curriculum by reviewing existing material and revising as necessary, ensuring all department employees complete required training.
* Completion of tasks as directed by the Operations Manager with minimal supervision.


Key Qualifications:

* Heavy Mechanical background experience with pumps, motors, process piping, valves, control valves, skid-based units, process skids, instrumentation.
* Able to read and interpret P&ID, ISO, and engineering assembly drawings.
* Ability to perform shop math.
* 7-10 years technical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
* 5+ years supervisory experience.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel.
* Effective communication of issues and solutions with project engineers.


Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in an ISO certified environment is beneficial.
