The role focuses on developing, building, configuring, maintaining and documenting key components of a Defence stand-alone network for implementation into a production environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and maintenance of a Defence stand-alone network, including network support, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Lead design, build, test and configuration activities for new and existing network elements in an Agile-like environment.
Develop Build Instructions and detailed designs (including network specifications and schematics for network architecture).
Conduct work in accordance with the Project Agile Methodology, including maintaining Jira and participating in stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning and retrospectives.
The successful candidate has experience with
Data Centre Architecture – Network, Compute, Storage and Network Services
Network Engineering (Cisco Enterprise Networking including WAN, LAN, and Data Centre)
Software Defined Networking
Network and Network Security Design
Highly Desirable
Knowledge of Storage solutions and VMware Cloud Foundation or VSphere
Knowledge of Cisco ACI and VMware NSX-T
Knowledge of DMVPN, Juniper networking, JUNOS
Disaster Recovery and active-active data centre
Management network design and management tools
Firewall rulesets
Familiarity with ITIL v3/v4 frameworks
Windows Server 2016/2019 (working knowledge)
Education and Experience
Ability to maintain security awareness and implement security best practices
Experience working in a Network Operations Centre environment
Experience in developing Detailed Designs
Experience in developing Build Instructions (BIs)
Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical leads and project management; able to meet project deadlines
Ability to learn new concepts and skillsets and improve existing technical knowledge
Ability to conduct research and rapidly learn new concepts and tasks
5 to 10 years minimum network experience in industry and Defence
CCNP or CCIE level skills.
Certifications are highly regarded but not essential
Location, Term and Security
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract terms: 12 month contract with extensions
Security Requirements: Australian citizenship with an active NV2 clearance.
Pre-employment checks may include ID, work rights, security clearance verification, and other client-requested checks
Salary
This contract role is paying a max of $119/hr inc super.
