The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Supervising Maintenance technician to join our commercial laundry based in Hindmarsh, Adelaide.
This is a permanent, full-time position in our Engineering department where you will work onsite in our branch 5 days a week (between 5am to 5pm), leading the day-to-day activities of our maintenance team of 5, while also being actively involved in maintenance tasks yourself.
The key function of our maintenance department is to support our production team by providing quality and efficient maintenance services during planned maintenance, breakdowns and the deployment of new plant and machinery.
This role is ideal for someone with a mechanical trade background who enjoys leading by example and is keen to grow their leadership skills while staying on the tools.
We'll support your development with training opportunities including restricted electrical licensing, machine guarding, and boiler operations.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of 5 maintenance technicians.
Perform hands-on maintenance of laundry machinery (washers, dryers, ironers, conveyors).
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and respond to breakdowns.
Oversee planned maintenance using our Spindle maintenance program.
Install and commission new plant and equipment.
Work with steam / gas appliances and reticulated services (water, pneumatics, trade waste).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure safety compliance.

Key Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in a similar hands-on supervisory role.
Mechanical, fabrication, or electrical trade qualification.
Experience in laundry, food processing, or similar industries is highly regarded.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid Australian work rights.
