 
        
        Overview / Responsibilities: 
Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Coordinator to join our team in Melbourne to be the site focal point for stewardship of EPC site construction activities.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, the successful applicant will be accountable for the execution oversight of all client 3rd party contractor construction & commissioning strategy; including safety performance, planning, schedule, efficient coordination of all field works on the contract and also provide permit holder function as required.
The role will also be responsible to engage with Client project subcontract and associated ancillary 3rd party service providers to ensure project integration and coordination and be accountable for supervising, organising and co-ordinating head office, site construction and commissioning teams to provide adequate support in accordance with the contract.
**Responsibilities** 
- Able to manage construction and commissioning personnel covering professional, trade and direct sub-contractors 
- Demonstrates effective delegation and team development with a focus on productivity and project integration 
- Demonstrates the ability to manage uncertainty to achieve a balance in the competing demands of the business

- Actively develops relationships with Client and WOOD entities via regular contact and involvement 
- Demonstrates ability to develop long and short-term service relationships that are cost efficient 
- Ensures that the construction and commissioning team is operating within the Client and WOOD processes by conducting regular audits, reviews and compliance audits within projects 
- Demonstrates sound, fact-based decision making, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors to help teams achieve goals 
- Able to understand changing trends and developments within Industrial Relations and communicates their impact to the business 
- Review and monitoring of subcontractor construction and safety documentation 
- Provide health and safety oversight of construction activities and support to project delivery team throughout the project life cycle 
- Permit preparation and controlling to support project delivery team within Client permit to work system 
- Managing subcontractor inductions, entry to general site and coordinating access to operational areas 
- Delivery of minor capital projects with support from project delivery team
Skills / Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years' experience in construction management / supervision and general project engineering in Pharmaceutical, Chemical or Oil & Gas industries 
- Team leader demonstrating focus, enthusiasm, sensitivity, mentoring and coaching qualities 
- Proven experience in the management of office, onshore site construction, and commissioning teams 
- Excellent oral and written communication skills 
- Demonstrates effective delegation and team development with a focus on productivity and project integration 
- Proven experience providing health and safety leadership and influencing site safety outcomes 
- Ability to influence and challenge others to ensure project delivery aligned with the Client organisation and Wood policies and procedures 
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and coordinate multiple crews in various field locations
