The Role:
PTG are currently seeking a fulltime professional Operations Scheduler with a strong work ethic and positive approach to join the team at the Buronga Branch.
Based at our Buronga Depot you will be reporting to the Operations Manager and National Operations Manager.
You will be responsible for scheduling drivers and managing freight for our linehaul operations - ensuring both safety and maximum vehicle utilisation.
This role is suitable for someone who thrives in a fast paced and continuously changing environment, where problem solving and contingent thought is an everyday occurrence.
Responsibilities:
Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our drivers.
Proven ability to manage and coordinate drivers and freight.
Maximise the effective utilisation of all PTG equipment.
Ability to plan effective turnaround and output on a daily basis whilst ensuring goods are dispatched in order of priority.
Coordinate daily operation effectively with other PTG branches to benefit the group.
Maintain accurate and timely data entry and documentation processing.
Attend to customer enquiries in a proactive & timely manner.
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Receiving and verifying the accuracy of orders as they arrive.
The Person:
Ability to perform well under pressure with a positive approach to all tasks.
Extensive experience in transport/logistics business desirable.
Exceptional motivational, people management and communication skills.
Use initiative to problem solve and be proactive in resolution of challenges.
High attention to detail whilst maintaining quality.
Proven knowledge, understanding and management of road transport and OH&S legislation within a transport business context.
Work well autonomously and as part of a team.
Advanced computer skills & previous experience with Freight**** software advantageous.
