About The Role
Gather by Cater Care is seeking a passionate, reliable, and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team in St Lucia, Queensland.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a prestigious boarding school environment, preparing fresh, nutritious, and high-quality meals for students and staff. The role also includes supporting events, functions, and formal dinners, with a strong emphasis on presentation, consistency, and flavour.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in their work, and demonstrates excellent organisation, teamwork, and reliability.
Roster
* Wednesday to Sunday: 6:00am - 2:00pm

Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and present fresh, high-quality meals for students and staff
* Assist with high-volume and bulk meal production
* Support catering for functions, events, and formal dinners
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
* Deliver professional and friendly customer service
* Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety standards
* Contribute positively to a collaborative kitchen team
Desired Skills and Experience
Your Background
* A trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
* Previous experience in a similar chef position
* Experience in bulk cooking or contract catering environments (highly regarded)
* Strong communication, time management, and organisational skills
* A positive attitude and ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
* Excellent attention to detail and presentation standards
* Experience within the education sector (desirable)
