Pet Therapy Volunteers, Residential Aged Care

About the Role
We are seeking pet owners with friendly, well-behaved dogs or other animals to visit residents at our aged care home in Nowra. Your furry friend will bring joy and companionship to those who need it most.
To ensure the comfort and safety of our residents, we ask that your pet meets the following criteria:
* Calm and gentle nature
* Up-to-date vaccinations and flea treatment
* Short, blunt nails
* Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times

As a social visitor, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our clients. Regular visits from volunteers like you can help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation, bringing great joy to those who receive them.

Requirements
To become a Pet Therapy Volunteer, you must:
* Be 18 years or older
* Hold a current National Police Check (arranged and paid for by HammondCare)
We would be happy to discuss a suitable visit schedule with you, taking into account your availability and preferences. Visits typically last 30 minutes and can be weekly or fortnightly.
Please note that this is a volunteer position and does not provide a direct benefit to you or your pet. However, the rewards of volunteering are numerous, and we believe that this opportunity will bring you as much joy as it will our clients.
