Status: Permanent, Full Time (1.0 FTE).
Salary range: $84,010.85 to $88,173.65 per annum depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
Opportunity: The City of Albany's IT Team is seeking an experienced and motivated Cyber Security Officer to help safeguard the City's information and systems against cyber threats.
* Reporting to the Manager IT, this role will see you responsible for:
* Identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber security risks;
* Monitoring and responding to security incidents and threats;
* Implementing and maintaining security controls, tools, and procedures;
* Ensuring compliance with security standards and frameworks such as Essential 8 and ISO/IEC 27000;
* Delivering security awareness training and promoting a culture of security across the organisation; and
* Supporting the City's CCTV and electronic security systems.
About You: We are seeking a proactive team player with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. You will have relevant qualifications in Information Technology (minimum Cert III or equivalent) and experience in a cyber security role. A cyber security certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+) will be highly regarded.
