Working within SA Health's leading healthcare network, you will contribute to ground breaking rheumatology research while providing direct patient care. About the role
Reporting to the Rheumatology Head of Unit, this role will be involved in conducting research studies and supporting related ethics submissions, in the department of Rheumatology including recruitment of eligible participants to clinical trials and research studies as well as conducting the study visits according to the approved study protocol and in accordance to ICH-GCP guidelines.
Duties for the role
* Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area.
* Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis.
* Assists and supports the Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities.
* Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience.
* Participate in clinical auditing, clinical trials and/or evaluative research.
* Interact with patients to collect data specimens, monitor response or any other clinical information related to clinical trials.
* Promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent of the ward/unit/service.
* Additionally, will also provide support to the wider Rheumatology Nursing team as directed.
* Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
About you
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
* Registered Nurse with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
* Demonstrated competence in Rheumatology nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
* Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
* Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.
