MK2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support a major project for a high-value client operating within the renewable and advanced manufacturing space. This role plays a critical part in the relocation of a portable solar production facility, involving the full disassembly and reassembly of a production line into a new factory.
This is a hands-on, technically varied role with strong long-term potential for the right person.
The Role You will be involved in the safe and efficient relocation of mechanical infrastructure, working as part of a skilled team to dismantle, transport and rebuild production equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Disassembly and assembly of gantry cranes
* Mechanical installations and machine assembly
* Working with tools to fit hoists, scaffolding, platforms and production equipment
* Light fabrication works
* Repairs and servicing of machinery, including chains, gearboxes and mechanical components
* Working safely at heights (WAH)
* Contributing to a high-quality, well-managed project environment
What We’re Looking For
* Trade-qualified or highly experienced Mechanical Fitter
* Proven experience with machinery assembly/disassembly and mechanical installations
* Experience working with gantry cranes, hoists and production equipment
* Working at Heights ticket (essential)
* EWP / Scissor Lift ticket (highly regarded)
* Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
* Ability to work as part of a professional, client-facing project team
Project & Conditions
* Project duration: 3 months to 2 years
* Long-term opportunity: Potential for permanent employment upon successful project completion
* Pay rate: $50–$55 per hour + penalties
* Tools provided
* Location: Salisbury, Adelaide
