The Heritage and Cultural Values Officer role involves providing expert advice on the preservation and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage sites, objects, and values.
This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including Traditional Owners, Registered Aboriginal partners, partner agencies, and Heritage Victoria.
The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of Aboriginal culture and be able to communicate effectively with Aboriginal communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing expert advice on the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage places, objects, and values.
* Assisting with desktop and on-ground cultural heritage values assessments.
* Working collaboratively with various stakeholders to complete assessments.
Requirements and Qualifications
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Need:
* An appropriate qualification or demonstrated practical experience in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, or Anthropology.
* Knowledge of and experience in the identification, protection, and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage places, objects, and values.
* A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal communities.
About The Opportunity
This is an ongoing position with flexible work arrangements available. The successful applicant will be required to work within the Loddon Mallee region.
