Job Title: Criminal Lawyer

Main Responsibilities
* Represent clients in all general criminal law matters, including preparation and appearance in court;
* Provide duty lawyer services in Magistrates and Children's Courts and appear on higher court call-overs and mentions;
* Offer legal information and advice to clients and the public;
* Support team members and other staff with enquiries related to specific areas of law;
* Demonstrate self-management and deliver outcomes with supervision and guidance from senior practitioners;
* Contribute to policy, procedure, law reform, and legal service delivery initiatives through collaborative submissions;
* Maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders and suggest improvements to work practices.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Experience in independently preparing, representing, and advocating in criminal law matters;
* Knowledge of relevant practice and procedure, as well as ethical standards;
* Effective communication skills, engaging with stakeholders, including those with complex needs, using trauma-informed principles.
