We are looking for someone to start ASAP for a 3-month contract paying up to $1000/Day + Super. Highly likely to extend.

**About the Role**
The Associate Director is responsible for leading the agency’s strategic communications function. This includes the planning, development and delivery of all external corporate communication activities which profile the Government policies, programs, and investments to grow the NSW visitor economy. The role manages a team of communications professionals whose purpose is to deliver an effective corporate communications program.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Manage the development, delivery, and integrity of the Department’s corporate communications strategy to ensure that all messaging and outputs align with the agency’s vision, purpose, and organisational strategy.
- Identify and manage emerging and sensitive issues proactively and provide timely and informed advice on external communications matters to the Director.
- Lead, manage and coach a multi-disciplinary team, embedding and promoting a high performance and team-oriented culture to deliver efficiently a comprehensive suite of corporate communications programs.
- Develop and deliver timely and informed stakeholder communication strategies, including proactive and reactive media and crisis communication responses and management of digital and social media corporate platforms.
- Implement appropriate controls and processes across the organisation, in consultation with the Director, to ensure that key messaging and communication outputs are consistent with Government and organisational policies and guidelines.
- Build and maintain strong professional working relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and respond to their communications requirements and performance expectations.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the communications program and provide detailed and reliable analysis to the Director to support strategic decision-making processes and to identify opportunities for development of new communications initiatives.

**About You**
- Government experience **required.**:
- Journalism or corporate communications experience with a demonstrated track record of highly effective outcomes across all communication formats, channels, and digital and social media platforms to build advocacy and an engaged and supportive stakeholder ecosystem.
- Demonstrated high-level experience in internal and external engagement to support the delivery of corporate communications strategy.
- Demonstrated experience providing quality advice and outputs and complex issues management.
