About the OPPORTUNITY –
We have a great opportunity for a Technical Publications Author to work within a team and under limited supervision as part of the DDG CSI-IPT broader team. The Technical Publications Author is responsible for completing the design and development of technical writing requirements of the DDG Support System, including illustrations, in accordance with the CSI-IPT contractual requirements to achieve the required business performance.
This role will see you:
* Develop and deliver technical writing and illustration solutions against requirements, including their optimisation and present solution in design reviews
* Utilise and leverage existing analysis tools effectively to produce high quality documentation products
* Undertake integration and validation of documentation, including contributing to integration and validation plans and reports
* Undertake peer review activities of technical documentation to ensure consistent high quality product output. Also includes, when required, independent reviews contributing to quality of plans and reports
* Undertake product change management and quality control processes
* Contribute to working groups, technical and program reviews at varying levels with management and customers
* Review DDG Support System documentation
* Attend and actively contribute to customer meetings and solutions as required
* Manage the closure of working group actions with key stakeholders

About YOU
* Diploma or formal qualifications in Technical Writing and/or equivalent industry experience
* Demonstrated experience in a technical writing or Technical Drafting/ Illustrating discipline or other equivalent experience
* Demonstrated experience in a Defence related technical industry will be highly desirable including experience in maintenance from maritime/Navy or engineering backgrounds
* Ability to understand, communicate effectively with; and influence colleagues within and outside immediate team to implement business requirements
* Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to review documentation/manuals to ensure there are no errors
* Experience utilising software such as Microsoft Word, Adobe (PDF) etc
* A current NV1 Clearance or eligibility to obtain
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations
