The role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dealership Accountant to join our growing automotive business in Cairns. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced dealership environment and is looking to play a key role in supporting business performance and operational success. About the Role Reporting directly to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for managing the dealership's financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Manage balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity Monitor cash flow, banking, and daily financial transactions Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls Support department managers with financial analysis and performance reporting Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions Assist with manufacturer reporting requirements and dealership audits About You Previous experience as a Dealership Accountant or Senior Automotive Accountant Strong understanding of dealership financial operations and key performance indicators Experience with dealer management systems (Pentana, Auto-IT, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar highly regarded) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities Relevant accounting qualifications (CA, CPA, or equivalent preferred) What's on Offer?
