Job Summary:
The Civil Supervisor is responsible for the direct hire scope of works in areas of the Eva Copper Process plant. The Civil Supervisor monitors all appointed direct hire and contractor's job site activities and ensures that construction operations and contractor performance follow project ES&H, quality, and schedule requirements, while maintaining effective relationships when interfacing with stakeholders.
Major Responsibilities:
* Construction monitoring and compliance of direct hire and subcontractors, ensuring works are carried out as per the drawings, specifications, and standards, as per schedule and ensuring compliance to ES&H plans, quality standards and local/national regulatory safety codes
* Coordinate performance of the installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems
* Coordinate with contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders involved in earthworks and foundation works
* Input to ensure continuous construction work fronts availability through review of look‐ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other service requirements including sub‐contractor submittals
* Review and approve the sub‐contractor's submittals, technical queries, field change documents and other technical documents including drawings and as‐builds
* Maintain an effective relationship with other functional departments and coordinate all jobsite contractual activities
* Coordinate and monitor interfaces with other work groups
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Preferably a recognized degree in an engineering discipline or minimum ten years of experience in civil and concrete works on industrial plants
* Minimum ten years of experience in construction projects in a contractor or PMC role
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Experience of large‐scale bulk excavation and excavated materials movements
* Experience of large reinforced concrete construction pours including excavations on major equipment foundations
* Thorough knowledge of standards, specifications and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
* Self‐motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor's staff and construction engineer
* Demonstrated knowledge of civil and earthworks systems and installation processes on similar projects
