Overview
Do you love to care? HammondCare is seeking Home Care Workers in the Central Newcastle Region including Newcastle, Mayfield, Mereweather, Lambton and Waratah. This is a not-for-profit organisation improving the lives of thousands of older people in need.
Availability
3 - 5 full days between Monday to Friday from 7am onward.
The Role
You will provide essential, practical care for older people, helping them to live independently in their own homes and improving their quality of life. This includes day-to-day care, building meaningful relationships and offering companionship. The role requires travel to clients' homes using your own car (you will be paid 0.99 per km plus paid travel time).
Responsibilities
* Providing personal care – helping with showering and dressing
* Helping around the home – meal preparation and light house cleaning
* Providing transportation to appointments and assisting with shopping
* Assisting with medication

* Salary: $31.95 to $35.44 per hour plus 99c/km + paid travel time + mobile phone provided

About You
* You're a people-person who is patient and solutions-focused
* You have previous experience in aged or community care, or are looking to start your career in aged care
* You have a valid Driver's Licence and access to an insured, reliable car (minimum third party property insurance)
* Ideally, you'll have a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support. If you're not currently qualified and would like to be, we can help
* You're flexible around meeting the changing needs of home care clients
