Senior Associate HSE Consultant
to join our team. You'll provide technical expertise in process safety, Safety in Design, and Safety Management Systems, while supporting project delivery and business development within our Environmental Management team.
As Senior Associate HSE Consultant you'll
* Lead and facilitate HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and Bow Tie studies as an accredited HAZOP Study Leader, ensuring robust risk identification and mitigation strategies
* Develop, implement, and audit Safety Management Systems in alignment with ISO 45001 and other relevant standards
* Conduct ISO 45001 assessments and provide expert advice on compliance and continuous improvement
* Apply Safety in Design principles across multidisciplinary projects, embedding safety considerations throughout the lifecycle
* Perform hazardous area classification assessments and advise on compliance for electrical and process safety
* Provide technical expertise in dangerous goods storage and handling, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
* Lead Fire Safety Studies and develop strategies to mitigate fire and explosion risks
* Deliver process safety services, including quantitative risk assessments and consequence modelling using tools such as PHAST / PHAST Risk for hazardous emissions, fire, and explosion scenarios
* Prepare and review technical reports and deliverables, ensuring quality and accuracy, and provide peer reviews for complex safety studies
* Mentor and support junior staff, fostering technical development and knowledge sharing within the team
* Engage with clients to build strong relationships, lead proposals, and contribute to business development initiatives
* Stay current with regulatory frameworks and industry best practices, applying your knowledge across multiple jurisdictions and sectors.
Here's what you'll need
You are a highly respected safety professional, valued by your peers and clients for your strategic safety advice, technical leadership and commitment to delivering safe and compliant solutions. A trusted advisor, people come to you for your help in solving challenges as you bring creativity and innovation to complex challenges, identifying opportunities to improve safety outcomes and add value to projects and clients. Your extensive experience – across sectors, project size and project life cycle – enables you to provide a range of solutions to clients. You are self-motivated and have substantial experience in the provision of Safety Management Systems, risk assessments, and process safety studies. Preferred skills and requirements for the role include
* Accredited HAZOP Study Leader
* Accredited ISO 45001 Auditor
* Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience in Safety Management Systems and ISO 45001 auditing
* NEBOSH certification or equivalent
* Proficiency in PHAST / PHAST Risk modelling tools.
* Strong technical knowledge in process safety, hazardous area classification, dangerous goods, fire safety and explosion modelling.
