We are seeking a talented CDP/Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Duke's Restaurant and Bar in East Maitland, NSW. You will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in leading our kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers. What you'll be doing
* Assisting the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen staff supervision.
* Ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
* Overseeing the day‑to‑day kitchen activities, including food preparation, inventory management, and kitchen hygiene.
* Providing mentorship and training to junior kitchen staff to help develop their skills and expertise.
* Collaborating with the team to develop new and innovative menu items that showcase our restaurant's food style.
* Maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
What we're looking for
* Minimum of 3‑5 years' experience as a qualified chef within a high‑quality restaurant or catering establishment.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu planning, and kitchen operations.
* Excellent culinary skills and a passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
* Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with the front‑of‑house team and customers.
