The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill multiple roles for Non-Ongoing Area Supervisors (APS5) in our Field Interviewer Operations (FIO).
About the role
As an Area Supervisor (APS5) in Field Interview Operations, you will lead a team of Field Interviewers who are responsible for conducting interviews, either in field (face to face) or over the telephone, for the Monthly Population Survey (MPS) and other Special Social Surveys (SSS). These surveys are vital for the ABS to provide validated data and information on a broad range of topics to government and other agencies.
Roles and responsibilities vary however, typical responsibilities include:
* Leading a virtual team of approximately 15 Field Interviewers around the country, who conduct household surveys.
* Regularly meeting with Field Interviewers (formally and informally), to ensure work is being completed, goals are being met and governing standards are being adhered to.
* Assisting to meet operational targets and deadlines, with a strong focus on quality and effective process.
* Acting as an escalation point for your team of Field Interviewers.
* Ensuring that work allocated to each Field Interviewer meets their agreed hours of work and negotiating additional work and/or work hours as required.
* Monitoring performance, including utilising and analysing management information.
* Regularly meeting with team members and peers to provide operational updates and to collaborate on innovative ideas.
