Sydney Site Operations Lead

We're seeking a Supervisor/Assistant Manager to drive daily operations and lead a team of diverse engineers to ensure operational excellence at our Sydney site. Technical expertise is a must, along with the ability to successfully manage a team of 7-8 engineers.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead a flagship site, assess individual and overall site capabilities, and bring about positive change management and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Site Management: Ensure all onsite duties are carried out in a timely manner and projects progress as expected.
* Leadership: Lead day-to-day operations of different personalities within the team who bring varied skills, experience, and opportunity areas. This includes performance management and improvement planning processes.
* Training and Development: Ownership of interviewing and hiring new employees, developing junior engineers, and ensuring the team is cross-trained and up-skilled to address any skills gaps.
* Site Capacity Management: Supervise overall site capacity, collaborating with internal and external teams.
* Project/Infrastructure Management: Plan, coordinate, budget, and implement resources to complete projects and maintenance within the Data Centre, utilizing the Maximo Assets Management System and associated KPIs.
* Vendor Management: Manage vendors to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, KPIs, and SLAs, including overseeing supplier contracts in conjunction with Cross-Functional teams.
* Testing: Ensure correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete. Take ownership of new building infrastructure. Approve all Method of Procedures (MOPs), scripts, and permits. Participate in the functional facilities engineering team across Australia.
* Incident Management: Communicate and coordinate activities and on-site staff during complex or severe customer-impacting incidents. Drive root cause analysis, provide clear direction, and drive incident resolution.

Qualifications, Key Skills, and Attributes:

* An Engineering-related Degree or Trade Qualified is essential for this role.
* Leadership experience, either in people management or team leadership, ideally supervising employees at various levels.
* The ability to harness and utilize senior engineer's expertise while providing ongoing support for developing staff.
* A willingness to uphold company values and ensure an inclusive team culture.
* Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical issues autonomously and in conjunction with cross-functional or global engineering teams.
