Clinical Nurse - Lactation Consultant, Queensland Health
Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the team within Women's and Children's Service Group at the Townsville University Hospital on a permanent part-time basis, working 40 hours per fortnight.

Competitive salary and benefits:
* Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (NG6, band 1)
* 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity:
The Lactation Consultant provides specialised, evidence-based lactation support within the Neonatal Unit, which delivers family‑centred care to newborns and families across North Queensland as the only tertiary neonatal service outside Brisbane.
Working across the NICU, Special Care Nursery and the neonatal Retrieval/Transport Service, the role directly assists mothers to establish and maintain milk supply, manage lactation challenges, and progress their babies from tube to oral and breastfeeding.
Role Requirements:
* Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (AHPRA).
* Certified as a Lactation Consultant as per the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
* Completion of Neonatal Specific Competencies is mandatory for nursing staff working within the Neonatal Unit.
* This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
* Probation period may apply.
* Pre‑employment checks will be conducted, including criminal history clearance.
