Junior Sous Chef – Full Time

We're looking for a passionate and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef ready to step up, take on leadership responsibilities, and deliver exceptional dining experiences in the heart of the Hunter Valley.
What you'll do:
* Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations
* Lead and supervise sections of the kitchen during service
* Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and menu development
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with food safety standards
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to support team growth
What we're looking for:
* Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar, ready to step up
* Strong culinary skills and a passion for high-quality food
* Ability to lead a section and work well under pressure
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
* Relevant trade qualifications in commercial cookery
