Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is the premier Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, established in 1986. KAMS provides a unified voice for Aboriginal health and wellbeing, delivering centralised resources and collective advocacy through partnerships with its Member Services.
As a member-based organisation representing eight independent Aboriginal organisations, KAMS aims to empower Kimberley Aboriginal people to be strong, healthy, and connected through culturally-informed community-controlled services. Position Overview
The Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Remote Health Centre. This position requires a dedicated individual to provide comprehensive reception and administrative support, facilitating effective client care coordination.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform all duties in accordance with KAMS policies and procedures.
* Greet community members and manage patient tracking data in MMEx.
* Ensure client demographic details are current and accurately maintained.
* Communicate effectively with health staff regarding clients' wellbeing.
* Handle telephone calls and messages in a professional manner.
* Maintain and update patient records and documents accurately.
* Support health centre staff with administrative tasks as required.
* Maintain office supplies and contribute to a safe work environment.
* Adhere to confidentiality principles and relevant legislation.
Candidate Profile
KAMS now has an opportunity for a Receptionist to join their team in Kutjungka, in a casual basis.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of administrative skills and interpersonal qualities that contribute to a supportive healthcare environment.
* Demonstrated word processing and clerical skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and occupational health standards.
* Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable qualifications include a First Aid Certificate, proficiency in computer applications, previous clerical experience, and connections to the local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
