Keeper Recruitment has been engaged by a well-established not-for-profit organisation in Melbourne's southeast to appoint a Financial Accountant on an 8 month fixed-term contract within their finance team. It's a great role for Financial Accountant looking for NFP experience or a well established Assistant Accounting wanting to step-up.
The role
Reporting to the Group Financial Manager, this is a technically broad contract position covering statutory reporting, treasury, lease accounting, employee provisions and finance improvement work. You will be a trusted member of a collaborative finance team that takes a holistic view of the organisation's financial compliance obligations.
Key responsibilities
* Month-end reconciliations, journal processing and close activities
* Preparation of specific notes and supporting schedules within the annual financial statements
* Preparation of employee entitlement schedules (annual leave, long service leave) and related journals and analysis
* Treasury management, including bank statement coding, reconciliation and cash flow analysis
* Preparation of financial information for government and regulatory reporting
* Supporting internal and external audit processes
* Assisting the Financial Reporting Manager on finance improvement projects and policy development
About you
* Tertiary accounting qualification; qualified by experience, or currently enrolled in CA or CPA (or fully qualified) will all be considered
* Demonstrated experience working within an ERP environment. Exposure to Oracle, SAP or TechnologyOne will be highly regarded
* Experience preparing, or assisting with, annual financial statements
* Prior experience within healthcare, not-for-profit or government sectors is desirable but not essential
* Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and a continuous improvement mindsetClear communicator who works well across a finance team and with stakeholders in the wider business
* Available to commit to an 8 month fixed-term engagement
