It's a varied role that will see you responsible for constructing, modifying, and repairing the bodies of heavy vehicles in line with stringent safety standards and customer specifications.Build and assemble heavy vehicle bodies, including truck bodies and parts, frames, panels and components to chassis or vehicles following detailed specifications, drawings and work instructionsFit and secure subframes, trays, body accessories, and other structural elements, including cranes at timesFollow daily and weekly production schedules to ensure on-time completion of buildsPrioritise work tasks based on build sequence, deadlines, and supervisor directionFabricate body parts using various materials, including metal and composite materialsManage and minimise material waste through accurate cutting, fitting, and reuse where possibleDiagnose structural issues and perform necessary repairs, ensuring optimal functionality and appearanceCustomise and modify vehicle bodies to meet specific client requirementsInspect completed vehicle bodies to ensure fit, finish, and structural integrity meet quality and safety standards and specificationsIn addition, you'll be trusted to:Take pride in the quality of your workFollow clear standards and processes that support doing the job properlyWork collaboratively with a skilled, experienced teamContribute ideas, experience, and solutions on the floorEvery position at TL is built around accountability, teamwork, and pride in the finished product.About youWe're looking for someone who cares about their work and wants to be part of a team that does things properly.
The ideal addition to our team will likely:Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding, fabrication, or automotive body building (preferred)Proven experience as an HV Fitter or vehicle body builder or similar fabrication role, particularly in the heavy vehicle industryStrong knowledge of vehicle body construction, repair, and customisationAbility to read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and specificationsAwareness of waste management and recyclingDetail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality workStrong time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet schedulesTake pride in quality and attention to detailRespect your teammates and the work they doBe open to learning, upskilling, and growing over timeValue clear expectations and consistent standardsWant stability, fairness, and respect at workAbout TL EngineeringTL Engineering is an industry leading motor vehicle body builder, operating since ****.
