Your new role
As the Assistant Accountant, you will play a key part in maintaining financial management and supporting statutory, transactional and management accounting functions. This role provides exposure to multiple systems, financial processes and business units.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining financial management and management accounting processes, including completing end-of-month tasks for assigned business units.
* Analysing and interrogating data to assist in preparing Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cashflow reports.
* Assisting in the delivery of statutory reporting and compliance obligations.
* Maintaining strong record-keeping and documentation standards.
* Completing data checks across key systems including Pronto, Redmap, Translogix, Asset Registers, Payroll Journals and others.
* Producing performance and financial reports from various systems.
* Providing support to finance, accounts, payroll and other operational functions.
* Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation activities, including bank, purchase card and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Undertaking additional finance or administrative duties as required.
You will also uphold the organisation's WHS, environmental, and corporate responsibilities, including:
* Working safely and reporting hazards.
* Participating in WHS programs, audits and emergency procedures.
* Adhering to company policies, ISO 9001 quality standards and the Code of Conduct.
* Acting with integrity, honesty and respect in all interactions.
What you'll need to succeed
Requirements:
* Degree-level qualification in Accounting (or equivalent).
* Desire to pursue CPA or CA upon completing your degree.
* Basic understanding of accounting standards and principles.
* Strong attention to detail.
* High level of numerical accuracy.
* Aptitude for financial or data analysis.
* A proactive and self‑driven approach to learning and development.
