**The Role**
As our new Print Finisher, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining folder gluer machines, diecutters, and guillotines. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
**Salary offered is $75,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation, commiserate with your experience.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Machine Setup and Operation**:
- Configure and supervise the operation of automatic finishing equipment, including setting up and adjusting folder gluer machines, diecutters, and guillotines for each job according to job specifications.
- Program and operate paper guillotines for precise cutting and trimming, utilising both manual controls and electronically operated units.
- Perform folding and collating operations using both automated machinery and manual techniques when required.
- Operate these machines to produce finished products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production timelines.
- Monitor machine performance, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
- **Quality Control**:
- Inspect finished products for quality defects and ensure they meet customer requirements and company quality standards.
- Operate and maintain finishing systems that embellish printed products, including both automatic and manual processes.
- Stack and organise finished items according to established procedures.
- Perform regular quality checks during the production process.
- Document and report any quality issues or discrepancies.
- **Maintenance and Troubleshooting**:
- Perform routine maintenance on folder gluers, diecutters, and guillotines to ensure optimal operation of binding and finishing machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during operation to minimise production disruptions.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel for more complex repairs or maintenance needs.
- Maintain detailed records of machine settings and performance for quality assurance
- **Safety and Compliance**:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a protected working environment.
- Maintain accurate production records, including setup parameters, production counts, and quality control logs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate production records, including job setup parameters, production counts, and quality control logs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production status and any issues.
- Participate in production planning to optimise workflow and meet deadlines
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the finishing department
Minimum qualifications and experience required:
AQF Certificate III including at least 2 years of on-the-job training plus at least 1 year of relevant work experience, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) plus at least 1 year of relevant work experience
Prior experience running both Bobst Diecutters and Bobst Gluers is highly regarded.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
