About the role
Uconnex Community Services' is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team in Kyabram, VIC. As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities, empowering them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.
What you'll be doing
1. Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
2. Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote community inclusion and enhance the wellbeing of clients
3. Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, advocating for their needs and preferences
4. Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised support plans
6. Uphold the principles of dignity, respect, and empowerment in all interactions with clients
What we're looking for
1. A relevant qualification in Disability Support, Community Services, or a related field
2. Experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients, families, and colleagues
4. A compassionate and empathetic approach, combined with a commitment to upholding the rights and autonomy of individuals with disabilities
5. Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the diverse needs and schedules of clients
6. A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
