Humble Cafe is looking for a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team in Southport. We are a fast‑paced and collaborative café environment that values consistency, efficiency, and high‑quality food execution. About the Role
The Chef de Partie will oversee the preparation and cooking of their assigned section, ensuring all food meets our quality, presentation, and timing standards. You will work closely with the Head Chef and broader team to maintain smooth kitchen operations throughout service.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and operate your designated section during service with accuracy and speed
* Prepare ingredients, cook menu items, and maintain consistent food quality
* Support the team during busy periods and communicate effectively with FOH
* Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are met at all times
* Assist with stock rotation, organisation of dry store and fridge areas
* Follow established recipes and contribute ideas for menu improvement
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workstation
* Train junior staff or apprentices if required
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum 3–4 years experience in a similar kitchen role
* Strong ability to handle multiple tasks across a fast‑paced service environment
* Solid understanding of kitchen workflow, food safety, and cleanliness standards
* Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain consistent output
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
* Positive attitude and passion for café‑style cuisine
* Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends as required
