The Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner is responsible for delivering family dispute resolution services that are guided by the principles of fairness, respect, and empathy. This involves facilitating open and honest communication between parties, helping them to identify areas of agreement and disagreement, and working collaboratively to find mutually acceptable solutions. In addition to providing direct service delivery, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners also contribute to the development and implementation of programs and initiatives aimed at promoting healthy relationships and preventing conflict. This may involve developing and delivering educational workshops, training other professionals, or participating in community outreach activities. To be successful in this role, candidates will need to possess a strong understanding of family dynamics, conflict resolution strategies, and the legal framework governing family law. They will also need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate will hold a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution or a relevant qualification, as well as accreditation with the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM) or a similar body.
