The Role
An opportunity has become available for a casual Registrar (Supportive and Specialist Palliative Care Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Work in a shared care needs based model that works with generalist palliative care providers
- Assess patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigations
- Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the palliative medicine physician
- Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers
- Admit patients from the community direct to the inpatient unit when necessary
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Possession of a medical degree Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
- AHPRA Registration
- Driver Licence
- Participation in the weekend ward round rosters and a weekly on-call roster
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

- Base salary ranging from $73.47 - $84.73 per hour

The Gold Coast Hospital Health Service Supportive and Specialist Palliative Care Services hub is located in Robina Hospital where it offers outpatient, home visiting, consultancy and inpatient services based on need rather than either disease or prognosis. There is a smaller service based at Gold Coast University Hospital.
