The School
North Lake Senior Campus (SC) provides students with an alternative approach to year 11 and 12 schooling. We are one of two senior campuses in Western Australia that offers secondary education to students beyond the compulsory schooling age. We are a multi-cultural campus that promotes an adult ethos to work in partnership with students to develop the requisite language and independent learning skills they require to successfully transition to their post school destinations.
In addition to local students, North Lake SC enrols newly arrived migrant and refugee background students aged 16 and over into our Intensive English Centre (IEC). These students have diverse educational and cultural experiences and backgrounds; they are resilient, motivated, and engaged learners. Through the study of a range of core and elective subjects, the students acquire Standard Australian English. They also acquire and develop the academic skills and knowledge they need to succeed in senior secondary Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and Vocational Education Training (VET) courses. Like all our students, they are supported in the planning of their pathways towards further education, training or employment. Many students exiting the IEC remain at North Lake SC to complete mainstream secondary studies in Years 11 and 12.

The suitable applicants will join an enthusiastic team that is engaged in delivering rich and challenging educational programs to a diverse student cohort. A strategic, goal-focussed and evidence-based approach to teaching that engages, supports, and challenges young people to be independent learners and critical thinkers is highly desirable. A diverse range of inclusive teaching strategies is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in and across teams.
