We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Workshop Leading Hand to join our Stapylton team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Diesel Fitter with proven supervisory experience to lead our workshop operations and drive efficiency and quality.
About the Role
As the Workshop Leading Hand, you will play a key role in supervising day-to-day activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading and supporting a team of workshop technicians
* Coordinating workflow and job allocation
* Performing diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment
* Ensuring compliance with safety standards and company procedures
* Assisting with training and mentoring of team members
The successful candidate will have the following:
* Heavy Diesel or Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate (essential)
* Strong commitment to safe work practices and the ability to lead by example
* Proven experience in leading a proactive, safety-focused and dedicated maintenance team
* Experience with CAT diagnostic systems or similar platforms
* Ability to assist in diagnosing faults and providing timely technical support for repairs
* Competence in maintaining accurate service and maintenance records using both paper-based and electronic systems
* A positive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
* Excellent time management skills and a strong commitment to quality control
* Valid manual drivers licence
* Supervisor training
The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol screening.
