Australian-owned and operated, Bonney Energy operates across Tasmania and Victoria and is a premier distributor of Ampol's trusted fuel and lubricant products.

The company's head office is located in Quoiba near Devonport, on the Northwest Coast of Tasmania, with our other Tasmanian branch office in Launceston. We are also situated in Regional Victoria, with offices located in Newport, Melbourne and Corio, as well as seven other depots located across the state.

About the role:

Reporting to our CFO, the Payroll and Work Cover Administrator plays a vital role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services, while ensuring system reliability, compliance and detailed reporting.

Work cover involves coordinating return-to-work programs, managing claims from start to finish, and providing expert advice to leaders and employees. Liaising with the Group's Workplace Relations Advisors and insurance brokers, and in conjunction with the Health and Safety Manager/Safety Compliance Officers in Tas and Vic.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused payroll professional who values accuracy and is comfortable managing payroll systems and managing work cover.

What we're looking for

Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time, including leave, benefits and entitlements

Prepare and lodge PAYGW, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, Work Cover claims and payments

Manage out-of-cycle payments, adjustments, bonuses and leave cash-outs

Collaborate with HR and Finance Teams to resolve payroll queries and provide customer service.

Manage payroll data analysis, forecasting and reporting

Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with legislation.

Support injured employees through rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.

Liaise with medical professionals, legal providers, and internal stakeholders

Provide coaching and advice to leaders on injury management.

Key Competencies and Technical Requirements:

Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in payroll processing and HR administration

High level of accuracy and discretion, ensuring payroll and HRM data integrity

Confidentiality is imperative

Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements

Strong understanding of Road Transport and Distribution Award, Fuel Industry Award, and related EBAs

Proficiency in payroll systems

Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Strong understanding of Australian Payroll Legislation

Experience in workers' compensation case management

Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and case management practices

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or equivalent (Desirable), Return to Work Coordinator certification (preferred)
