Catalyst Metals owns and operates the Plutonic Gold Mine in the Eastern Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The Plutonic Gold Mine produces 85koz of gold annually. The Company also holds the Four Eagles Gold Project in Bendigo.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, the Company plans to bring three new mining areas at Plutonic into production.

Departing from Perth you'll fly directly to Plutonic arriving within 90mins of departure. Once onsite you are accommodated in a well-established camp that boasts a substantial gym, squash courts, multipurpose court, pool, and modern ensuite rooms with Wi-Fi, just to list some of the facilities.
The Role
Reporting to, and acting as 2IC to the Exploration Manager, the Exploration Geology Superintendent is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing a large team, multiple con-current drill programs, and delivering high-quality geological data in a safe and efficient, manner.
The successful applicant will be pivotal for driving resource growth across the Plutonic and Marymia Belt through the discovery and delineation new reserves and resources in close cooperation with the resource estimation and mine geology teams.
This role will also focus on near-mine extensional drilling, resource definition, and belt-wide targeting in key corridors to convert exploration targets into mineable ounces, supporting production growth toward 200,000 oz Au per year by 2028.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage exploration geology teams, contractors, and suppliers to plan, budget, develop, implement, and execute exploration programs aimed at discovering and increasing mineable resources/reserves.
* Coordinate daily exploration operations, including supervision of drilling programs, field activities (mapping, sampling, structural geology), geophysical/geochemical surveys, and associated documentation.
* Provide accurate, predictive geological models and data to support production targets, grade control, reconciliation (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual), dilution minimization, and recovery maximization.
* Contribute to short-, medium-, and long-term mine planning, near-mine exploration, and resource/reserve growth to extend LOM and reduce geological risk.
* Oversee QAQC management, validation of drill, geophysical, and geochemical results; ensure data integrity, storage, retrieval, and reporting standards are exceeded.
* Manage budgets and forecasts for the exploration/geology area; monitor expenditure, investigate variances, identify cost improvements, and implement action plans.
Required:
* Tertiary qualifications in geoscience from a recognised institution.
* Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
* BSBWHS411 – Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs
* BSBWHS414 – Contribute to WHS risk management
* BSBWHS513 – Lead WHS risk management
Desired:
* Minimum 12 years relevant experience in gold mining/exploration industry.
* Strong background managing multiple drill rigs in near mine and brownfields environments.
* Strong team leadership and communication skills.
* Experienced in all standard exploration techniques.
* An understanding of resource estimation methods.
* Experience in managing costs and budgeting.
* Computer literacy – QGIS, Leapfrog, INX, Pronto and Coreplan advantageous.
* Ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all geological and environmental tasks.
* Understanding of relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
* Understanding of tenement management and relevant legislation
