Bricklayer

Wollongong, New South Wales – Full-time, Permanent

Salary up to $89,651.68 per annum plus superannuation (Salary will be assessed based on skills, experience, and qualifications).

We are looking for a skilled and adaptable Bricklayer to join our friendly City Works team. If you enjoy hands‐on work, take pride in quality craftsmanship, and want a role that offers variety, stability, and a genuine focus on work/life balance, this could be the perfect fit.

About The Position

You'll be part of a small, supportive crew that looks after bricklaying, paving, repairs, and general maintenance across Council buildings, structures, and public spaces. No two days are the same; you might be working on new builds one day, tackling maintenance jobs the next, or jumping in to help with civil support tasks that keep the city moving.

Your day kicks off early at the depot, where you'll meet up with the team before heading out to different sites across the Local Government Area (Helensburgh to Yallah). The role runs on a nine‐day fortnight, but from time to time you may be asked to work the occasional weekend, some overtime, or take part in on‐call duties to help meet operational needs.

What You'll Be Doing
* Assessing and planning brick and paving works
* Repairing and maintaining Council buildings, structures, walls, and footpaths
* Operating tools and equipment safely, including a brick saw
* Working independently and as part of a close‐knit team
* Pitching in to support your team with other operational tasks when required
* Adapting to changing priorities, work locations, and daily tasks
* Maintaining high safety and quality standards
* Engaging respectfully with the public when needed
About You

You're a qualified Bricklayer with a Certificate III (or equivalent), bringing established experience and strong technical capability in bricklaying and paving. You are confident assessing work requirements and planning the right materials, tools, and methods to get the job done well. Adaptable and flexible, you are comfortable adjusting to changing tasks and priorities, and you bring a positive, team‐focused attitude, always willing to lend a team mate a hand when needed.

You are physically capable of the manual, repetitive tasks the role requires, and you are a leader in safety with a strong commitment and understanding of WHS practices. You hold a White Card, have experience using a brick saw, and are open to gaining an MR licence, Traffic Control tickets, and other qualifications with our support.
