With a strong focus on governance, probity and value for money, they are undertaking a range of strategic procurement and contracts initiatives and are seeking experienced commercial professionals to support the delivery of high‐impact outcomes across critical categories.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Category Manager – Procurement to lead end‐to‐end category management and sourcing activities across a diverse and high‐value portfolio.
Reporting to a senior procurement leader, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders to shape category strategies, lead complex sourcing and negotiations, and provide expert commercial and governance advice. This role plays a key part in driving compliant, value‐for‐money procurement outcomes while strengthening supplier performance and contract governance.
This is an initial 6‐month contract, offering exposure to complex procurement programs and senior stakeholder engagement.
The Successful Candidate
You will be a commercially astute procurement professional with proven experience operating in complex or regulated environments.
You will bring:
* Demonstrated end‐to‐end category management and strategic sourcing experience
* Strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks, governance and probity requirements
* Proven capability in market analysis, commercial evaluation, negotiation and contract managementExperience managing high‐value contracts and driving supplier performance and compliance
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and provide authoritative advice
* Excellent analytical, risk management and documentation skills with a strong audit‐ready mindset
* Resilience, sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively under pressure
Experience within NSW Government or a similar public sector environment will be highly regarded.
