The successful candidate will join the research group of Professor Christian Müller, focusing on the interplay between electrical and mechanical properties of conjugated polymers and the development of advanced fiber spinning processes for wearable device integration.Project OverviewThe primary objective of this doctoral project is to investigate the mechanical and electrical characteristics of conjugated polymers and to develop scalable manufacturing techniques for conducting polymer fibers. The research will encompass fiber spinning, integration of fibers into wearable devices such as organic electrochemical transistors, and comprehensive characterization using methods including tensile testing, dynamic mechanical analysis, nanoindentation, and atomic force microscopy. The candidate will collaborate closely with both academic and industrial partners in Sweden and internationally.RequirementsA Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience in polymer processing and characterization, with emphasis on solution-processed conjugated polymersExcellent teamwork and collaboration abilitiesProficiency in English, both written and spokenAdditional MeritsPrior experience in organic electronics and/or fiber spinning is highly valuedContract TermsThe PhD position is a full-time employment for four years, with the possibility of extension up to 4.5 years with teaching duties (up to 10%).
