We’re now seeking a skilled and well-connected Senior Account & Business Development Manager to lead client partnerships in the Mildura region, someone who understands the agriculture and food landscape and already has strong relationships within the local industry.
About the Role
This role is responsible for managing high-value client accounts, driving exceptional operational delivery, and leading strategic business growth across the region’s agriculture workforce needs. You will work closely with growers, packhouses, and producers across the Mildura region, drawing on your existing industry connections to strengthen partnerships, provide tailored solutions, and expand ALA’s presence.
Reporting directly to the Head of Account Management, you will work autonomously across the region, backed by our recruitment, payroll, compliance, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary contact for key agriculture clients, ensuring responsive and professional service.
- Leverage your existing network in the local agriculture and food industry to build recent relationships and strengthen current partnerships.
- Conduct regular in office visits and client meetings to understand workforce needs, resolve issues, and gather insights, ensuring all interactions are accurately recorded.
Operational Delivery
- Oversee candidate performance, attendance, productivity, and client satisfaction.
- Support end-to-end operations including inductions, onboarding, safety processes, and rostering.
Business Development & Account Growth
- Use your established industry connections to identify new business opportunities and drive portfolio growth.
- Present tailored workforce proposals aligned to client needs and industry cycles.
- Assist with pricing strategies and contribute to commercial negotiations.
- Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure all placements meet Fair Work, Award conditions, WHS requirements, and visa obligations (including PALM and WHM programs).
- Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation.
- Lead incident investigations and escalations professionally and efficiently.
Key Skills & Experience
- Established connections and networks within the horticulture or broader agriculture industry.
- 3–5 years’ experience in account management within labour hire, recruitment, or high-volume workforce environments.
- Experience working with growers, packhouses, or seasonal workforce cycles.
- Strong knowledge of the Horticulture and Pastoral Awards, Fair Work Act, WHS standards, and relevant visa programs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, HR, Agriculture, or related fields (preferred).
- Valid driver’s licence (essential) as regular travel to client sites, including overnight trips, is crucial to the success of the role.
