Job Title: Material Planner
This is a crucial role where you will be responsible for managing the inventory, providing excellent customer service to MBTA employees, and ensuring that all parts and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of computer experience, warehouse or stockroom management experience, and obtain and maintain a forklift license.
Responsibilities:
* Provide quality customer service to include attention to detail, meet and greet customers, and review requisition forms for proper completion.
* Maintain neat and clean stock room area, perform regular cycle counts of material, and provide recommendations on min/max stocking levels.
* Perform manual counts and inventory reconciliation, verify materials against receiving, shipping, storage and inventory documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damage.
* Rout materials to prescribed storage locations, store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, manage and take inventory of received, shipped and/or stored materials daily, examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage.
* Remove material from storage/receipt areas and prepare it for turn-in, process and/or affix receipt, shipment, storage, pick/pack and other paperwork and reports as required, operate hand or power trucks and/or forklift in performing warehousing duties.
Requirements:
* 1 year computer experience
* Warehouse, stockroom or Inventory management experience
* Obtain and maintain a forklift license
Physical Requirements:
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
