We are seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Accountant to join our Perth-based Finance team during our ongoing business optimisation and efficiency initiatives.
The Role
The General Finance team plays a critical role in ensuring the financial sustainability of Compass Group Australia. Responsibilities include providing technical accounting expertise, managing the financial control framework, overseeing audits and annual reports, and managing cash flow and the balance sheet across the Australian Group.
You will work closely with the Senior and Financial Accountants to deliver high-quality financial processing and reporting, supporting accurate decision-making and performance assessment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assist with month-end activities such as journals and reconciliations
- Assist in improving financial reconciliations and processes
- Support the external audit process
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts
- Assist with BAS and FBT returns
- Support the finance team with ad hoc accounting duties
- Engage in business partnering and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
About You
- Working towards CA/CPA qualification
- Commerce/Accounting degree
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience (preferred)
- Proactive, hardworking, and accountable
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and deadline management
- Team player committed to continuous improvement
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
