About the Role
This is atrue generalist HR role with broad scope and real accountability. You will be the go-to HR professional for all people matters, driving operational excellence, compliance, and engagement across the business.
You will be responsible for:
* Providing day-to-day HR advice to managers and employees.
* Managing employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, grievances, investigations, and terminations.
* Overseeing payroll and compliance, ensuring statutory obligations are met and Workers Compensation is managed effectively.
* Drafting and reviewing contracts, letters, policies, and employment documentation.
* Driving recruitment, onboarding, and probation processes, ensuring a smooth employee experience.
* Supporting managers with workforce planning, structure, and people issues.
* Maintaining HR records, compliance systems, and reporting metrics.
* Ensuring alignment with the Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards, and internal policies.
* Leading and supporting change initiatives, helping employees and managers navigate shifts in processes, roles, and ways of working.
* Identifying risk early and helping leadership make sound, practical decisions.
* Coordinating performance management, remuneration reviews, and training programs.
About You
You are a hands-on, commercially aware HR professional who can operate independently and take full ownership of the HR function. You bring:
* Proven experience in a senior HR generalist, HR manager, or HR practitioner role.
* Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, including Fair Work, NES, and Modern Awards.
* Experience managing disciplinary matters, investigations, performance management, and terminations.
* Excellent drafting skills for contracts, letters, policies, and HR documents.
* Confidence working directly with business leaders, providing practical, commercially sound advice.
* High discretion, professionalism, and accountability.
* The ability to manage competing priorities independently, without a large support structure.
Highly Regarded
* Experience in a stand-alone HR role.
* Exposure to operational, shift-based, or regulated workforces.
* Experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or service-based industries.
* Tertiary qualifications in HR, IR, Business, or Law.
