Job Description ACCIONA Agua is a global leader in water infrastructure, committed to sustainability, innovation, and excellence. We specialize in the development, design, construction, operation, and management of water projects worldwide. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimating Manager to lead our national estimating function. This is a key leadership role overseeing the entire estimating operations across Australia, with a focus on major electro-mechanical desalination projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of cost estimates and coordinate proposals for large-scale desalination projects. Provide detailed quantity take-offs and ensure accurate forecasting of project costs. Manage multiple bids and act as the primary liaison between the estimating team and senior leadership. Evaluate and refine estimates based on project requirements and client feedback. Build and maintain strong client relationships as the lead contact for proposals. Ensure all bid formats and submissions comply with client and regulatory standards. Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to gather pricing on labor, materials, and other project costs. Participate in pre- and post-bid meetings as required. Maintain historical cost data and track project estimations using internal systems. Support project teams in transitioning awarded tenders into successful project execution. Provide mentorship and leadership to junior estimators. Planning & Quality Control Develop and maintain company-wide estimating standards and best practices. Ensure estimating resources, tools, and methodologies align with project needs and industry standards. Collaborate with the quality management team to uphold high-quality estimating processes and compliance. Required Skills and Competencies Required Skills and Competencies Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or a related field. At least 10 years of experience in estimating for major water infrastructure projects, particularly in the desalination sector. Proven ability to manage and deliver accurate cost estimates for large-scale projects, including treatment plants, pipelines, and pump stations. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and cost estimation systems. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
