**Position Information**:
Francis Greenway High School is an inclusive comprehensive secondary school with a Support Unit. The student population continues to grow with a current enrolment of 700 students. 7% of students have a background where English is an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) and 19% identify as having an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. The school forms part of the Gateway Learning Community of schools who, as a group, provide a continuous path of learning for all students.
Students are provided challenge and support to reach their educational potential, including targeted strategies to support high potential and gifted students. Students engage in a variety of extracurricular activities in sport, science, culture, the arts, drama, music and leadership. The student body are represented in decision making processes across the school through both the Student Voice Team and the Junior Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. A strong wellbeing focus is based on clear, consistent and fair boundaries, high expectations and individual recognition of success.
The school values the support of its community. We have fostered strong partnerships with universities, cultural institutions, business and industry, and community groups. Our Parent and Citizens body is a highly supportive group involved in the decision-making process and the operation of our school canteen. The Maitland Local AECG is a valuable consultative body which supports our Junior AECG and implementation of the Aboriginal education policy.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach Food Technology and Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VET teacher training in Hospitality
- Food and Beverage providing the qualification entry benchmark is met
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and the community.
- Ability to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute to whole school initiatives.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement teaching and learning programs and strategies to cater for the needs of a diverse range of students.
