Job Description

We are looking for a Speech Pathologist to join the Remote Services Team in NT

You will have the opportunity to visit some of Australia's most unique country, providing capacity building supports in Central Australian schools, bringing services to children and families in very remote communities, along with children in the greater Darwin area.

About the role:

Our team works collaboratively with families and believe in the enormous potential that lies within every child and young person. With the combination of focussed early childhood supports, a remote services team, and a family centred therapy model, the NT team is at the forefront of excellence in paediatric services.

You will be fully supported by a dedicated administration team, freeing your time for you to do what you do best.

What you'll do:

* Provide culturally sensitive, evidence-informed therapy and capacity building supports for children and families
* Work within the multidisciplinary team of therapists and allied health assistants, to provide comprehensive supports for clients
* Provide a mix of capacity building, coaching, 1:1 and small group therapy supports, education, consultation and wrap around supports
* Services can be provided in our fantastic clinic space, or flexibly to suit the client's needs

Visiting Alice Springs for 5 days, every 6 weeks, this position is based in Darwin. Services focus on working with the Department of Education, to provide capacity building supports for schools, in Central Australia, including Alice Springs, Yulara, Papunya, and other remote area schools.

During these visits, all expenses are paid including flights, accommodation and a vehicle, plus a generous remote allowance (up to $650 per trip).

There is also the option to add additional visits to other NT communities, 1 day per fortnight. Sites may include the Tiwi Islands (Wurrumiyanga, Pirlangimpi, Milikapiti), Wadeye and Daly River, along with opportunities to expand our remote service offering. Remote services are supported by our Indigenous Allied Health Assistants, who will travel with you, providing essential connections and guidance for both clients and therapists.

What's in it for you?

* Generous salary package plus super depending on experience including our Rewards and Recognition program together with travel allowances
* Comprehensive supervision and mentoring to support your Career Development Plan – local and national training, professional and team specific collaboration, remote specific supervision AND an Annual Professional Development Allowance
* Career progression opportunities – we love to support and grow local talent, and our national footprint gives therapists the opportunity to reach higher and wider
* 3 days of annual professional development leave entitlement (on top of other leave entitlements)
* Structured supervision with ON-SITE, senior practitioners, along with access to industry leaders across our national network
* Flexible work arrangements, 9 day fortnights, or early finish Fridays, options to work from home. Structure your week to suit your work style
* Paid parental leave
* Discounted health insurance
* Access to our Mental Health and Wellbeing Program
* Discounts and savings at retailers across Australia

What you need to join:

* An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
* An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
* Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and SPA registration
* Exceptional communication skills that enable you to work in a culturally rich and diverse environment and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment
* Experience in working with children and/or in the disability sector and confidence in your role working closely with their families is highly valued
