 
        
        The Role
The Mercure Townsville is looking for a dedicated, hardworking and experienced commis chef to join our busy kitchen team.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work well under pressure whilst upholding high standards. Having a great work ethic, creativity and a passion for producing quality food, you will be reporting to the Executive Chef.
You will also possess the following:
 * Trade qualified Cert 3 in commercial cookery
 * Experience with catering and functions
 * Experience assisting in planning & co-ordinating menus for functions, banquets and special events
 * Al a Carte experience
 * Ability to follow and develop recipes
 * Be self-driven and work as part of a team
 * Previous experience in high-volume, multi-venue operations is advantageous
 * An enthusiastic attitude
 * Effective communication skills
 * Super calm under pressure
 * Sound knowledge of WH&S legislation and Health regulations.
