The Wall Tiler is responsible for laying ceramic, porcelain, marble, stone, and other types of tiles on walls, floors, and surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. This role requires accuracy, an eye for design, and a commitment to meeting Australian building and waterproofing standards. The ideal candidate can read and interpret technical drawings and work collaboratively with trades and site management to deliver high -quality finishes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare surfaces for tiling by removing old tiles, adhesive, or grout, and ensuring surfaces are clean and level.
* Measure areas to be tiled and calculate the number of tiles and materials needed.
* Lay tiles in accordance with design specifications and technical plans.
* Cut tiles to size using hand tools and tile -cutting equipment.
* Mix and apply adhesives, mortar, and grouts to secure tiles in place.
* Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and pattern for a consistent finish.
* Apply waterproofing membranes and sealants where required.
* Repair or replace broken or damaged tiles and re -grout where necessary.
* Interpret and work from architectural plans and drawings.
* Maintain tools and tiling equipment in safe and working condition.
* Ensure compliance with Australian building codes, waterproofing standards, and WHS regulations.
* Collaborate with other trades on -site to coordinate tasks and project timelines.
* Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
Requirements
o Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent qualification.
o Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience as a wall tiler on commercial or residential sites.
o Proficiency in interpreting drawings and plans.
o High level of attention to detail and ability to deliver premium -quality finishes.
o Ability to lift and handle heavy materials and perform physical labor over extended periods.
o Solid understanding of waterproofing requirements and tiling adhesives.
o Ensure compliance with Australian building codes, waterproofing standards, and WHS regulations.
o Collaborate with other trades on -site to coordinate tasks and project timelines.
