About the Client
South32s GEMCO operation on Groote Eylandt is seeking a motivated Process Operator to join the team on a 7:7 day and night shift roster. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with fixed plant or processing experience who is confident working in a remote mining environment and values safety, teamwork, and reliability.
About the Role
You will play a key part in maintaining the safe and reliable operation of the manganese processing plant. Duties will include monitoring plant performance, operating and inspecting fixed plant equipment, taking samples, identifying faults, and supporting daily production activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate and monitor fixed plant and processing equipment
* Conduct routine plant checks, inspections, and sampling
* Identify and respond to plant issues, blockages, or abnormalities
* Communicate effectively with maintenance teams, operators, and supervisors
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and site compliance
* Support production targets while prioritising safety at all times
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a processing plant, fixed plant, or industrial environment
* Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
* Ability to follow procedures and work effectively within a team
* Good communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
* D10 Dozer experience Mandatory
* CAT 980 Loader experience Mandatory
